I heard about this great project from a work colleague yesterday that has been introduced by the website “Memory4Teachers”. The aim of the project is to support teachers and educators by funding the provision of 750,000 USB memory sticks (2GB) across the UK, which also contain free teaching resources for most subject areas.
To claim your free memory stick go to this website Memory4Teachers – Registration and fill in the registration details for your school.
As mentioned in an earlier post on here, on 7th November I will be holding a seminar to highlight methods for delivering the control element of the National Curriculum in ICT.
During the day we will be looking at Lego Mindstorms NXT and Scratch games programming.

After many discussions in my school the general concensus is that many of us find playing music in the classroom quite an affective technique to help children concentrate, however MP3 players in my school are banned. The website Help Me Chill is an online radio station that plays nothing but chill out music with little or no talking from DJ’s making it the ideal station to listen to in the classroom.

Some of you will probably know this already but for those of you who don’t I am going to share with you a really simple method for downloading videos from websites like YouTube. This method not only allows you to download videos it also enables you to convert files to different types.
All you need to do is go to the website www.zamzar.com, it’s all self-explanatory when you go there being presented with different tabs, mainly, one for “Convert” and one for “Download” where you can enter the URL and select the file type.
Once you have completed details for the conversion/download the site will send you an email to let you know when your file is ready for download. It’s as easy as that!!
