{"id":51,"date":"2009-02-18T13:33:04","date_gmt":"2009-02-18T21:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/geekynicki.edublogs.org\/?p=51"},"modified":"2010-01-17T17:13:57","modified_gmt":"2010-01-17T17:13:57","slug":"conferences-and-workshops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/?p=51","title":{"rendered":"Conferences and Workshops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As Lead Practitioner one of my favourite parts of the role is sharing ideas and networking with other teachers, I am therefore particulary happy that I have two conferences coming up.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/scratchworkshop-thumb.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-48\" title=\"Scratch Workshop\" src=\"http:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/scratchworkshop-thumb.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"306\" height=\"232\" \/><\/a>Next Wednesday I am holding a workshop at the ICT Subject Leaders Conference in Kent. The workshop will be based on using Scratch to make computer games and will give a basic overview on how to use the software with demonstrations. I will also be providing some teaching resources to accompany the session.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like more details about this conference or wish to book a place contact your local advisor.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/robots-thumb.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-50\" title=\"Robotics in the Classroom\" src=\"http:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/02\/robots-thumb.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"301\" height=\"233\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Recently I have also been asked to deliver a workshop at the SSAT Annual Maths &amp; Computing Conference on 23rd and 24th June.\u00a0 This will be based on the use of robots in the classroom. The primary focus will be Lego Mindstorms and Go-Robo software for use with WowWee robots.
