So far I have taken on the role of shortlisting the entries which proved to be a long job with so many!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-1308\" src=\"http:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Games-list-1024x207.png\" alt=\"Games list\" width=\"640\" height=\"129\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Games-list-1024x207.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Games-list-300x60.png 300w, https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Games-list.png 1566w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At this point I thought it would be a good idea to share with you the list of finalists and tell you about their games, to download a game\u00a0you can click on its name.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Primary<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Devildroid-300x261.png\" alt=\"Devildroid\" width=\"200\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Devildroid-300x261.png 300w, https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Devildroid-1024x894.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Devildroid.png 1238w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Clan Kodu from Cardross Primary is the group that won the Scottish heat of the Kodu Kup with their game, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Primary\/Clan%20Kodu%20-%20Maze%20Adventures%20%28Scottish%20Finalists%29\/%5BPackage%5DMaze%20Adventures%20v05%2C%20by%20CodingSamurai.Kodu2\" target=\"_blank\">Maze Adventures<\/a>&#8221; in which Kodu has to navigate around a variety of different mazes of varying difficulty.<\/li>\n<li>Hampden Gurney are back for a second year with their group, Team Fly Fish and their game, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Primary\/Team%20Fly%20Fish%20-%20Human%20Body\/%5BPackage%5DHumanBody.kodu2\" target=\"_blank\">Human Body<\/a>&#8221; in which you take on the role of a white blood cell to help the human body defeat the bacteria.<\/li>\n<li>Gryphon Games from Exmoor Coast Federation and their game &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Primary\/Gryphon%20Games%20-%20Zack%27s%20Amazing%20Adventures\/Zack%27s%20Amazing%20Adventure%20by%20Guy.kodu\" target=\"_blank\">Zack&#8217;s Amazing Adventures<\/a>&#8221; begins with a lovely intro sequence and progresses to a range of mini games to complete along the way.<\/li>\n<li>Minion Productions from Hitherfield Primary have come up with a game called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Primary\/Minion%20Productions%20-%20Trapped%20in%20Your%20Own%20Mind\/%5BPackage%5Dlevel%201.kodu2\" target=\"_blank\">Trapped in your own Mind<\/a>&#8220;, which is set inside a dream in which the character is trapped and has to escape.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Secondary<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1314\" src=\"http:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Grand-Master-300x142.png\" alt=\"Grand Master\" width=\"250\" height=\"119\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Grand-Master-300x142.png 300w, https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Grand-Master-1024x487.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Grand-Master.png 1319w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Madd Hatt Games from Uppingham Community College have produced a\u00a0futuristic\u00a0game in the style of Portal called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Secondary\/Madd%20Hatt%20Games%20-%20Confined\/Confined%201%20by%20MADDHATT.Kodu2\" target=\"_blank\">Confined<\/a>&#8220;, \u00a0in which the player has to complete various tests to progress through the game to defeat an evil robot at the end. I really liked\u00a0how much planning has\u00a0clearly\u00a0gone into each\u00a0of the\u00a0tests.<\/li>\n<li>From Lister Community School are the Phantoms of Gaming with their game, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Secondary\/Phantoms%20of%20Gaming%20-%20The%20Grand%20Master\/The%20Grand%20Master%20Final%20Glorius.Kodu2\" target=\"_blank\">The Grand Master<\/a>&#8220;, a very challenging game which starts with an evacuation, followed by the main character having to track down the &#8220;Elder Kodu&#8221; in order to defeat the Grand Master. Very challenging and fun to play!<\/li>\n<li>Stargamer Studios from Highgate School are also through to our finals with their game, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Secondary\/Stargamer%20Studios%20-%20Defeat%20the%20Devildroid\/%5BPackage%5DDefeat%20the%20Devil%20Droid.Kodu\" target=\"_blank\">Defeat the Devil Droid<\/a>&#8221; which is a fun selection of minigames to complete after the main character is captured by the evil &#8220;Devil Droid&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Last of our secondary entries is the team from Handsworth Grammar School, Seemakhaawk, and their game &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Secondary\/Seemakhaawk%20-%20Eruption\/Eruption%20v01.kodu\" target=\"_blank\">Kodu Eruption<\/a>&#8221; in which the player has to escape from a volcanic island by collecting all of the pieces to make a teleportation device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Judges Choice<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1317\" src=\"http:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/MissionSaviour-300x266.png\" alt=\"MissionSaviour\" width=\"250\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/MissionSaviour-300x266.png 300w, https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/MissionSaviour-1024x909.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.interactiveclassroom.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/MissionSaviour.png 1105w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This is an additional category for those who have shown great imagination in their games but haven&#8217;t necessarily included an in-depth storyline:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Haverstock Girl Gamers have produced some particularly well-designed levels with their game &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Judges%27%20Choice\/Haverstock%20Girl%20Gamers%20-%20Mission%20Saviour\/Mission%20Saviour%20%5BLevel%201%5D.Kodu2\" target=\"_blank\">Mission Saviour<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0in which you play an anti-virus bot removing viruses from the computer&#8217;s circuit board.<\/li>\n<li>Another entry from Lister Community School is Sweet Rain Productions with &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Judges%27%20Choice\/Sweet%20Rain%20Productions%20-%20Doodle%27s%20Arcade%20Crisis\/Doodle%27s%20Arcade%20Crisis.kodu\" target=\"_blank\">Doodle&#8217;s Arcade Crisis<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0that\u00a0has a simple but effective storyline in which the player is sucked into an arcade machine and has to play through the various arcade games to escape.<\/li>\n<li>Marsden Primary School&#8217;s team, Illustration Masters, have created a game called &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Judges%27%20Choice\/Illustration%20Masters%20-%20Mad%20Mazes\/MAD%20MAZES%2C%20by%20Illusion%20Masters2.Kodu2\" target=\"_blank\">Mad Mazes<\/a>&#8221; and although this doesn&#8217;t have a specific story it does feature a range of talking characters and the world has been well designed.<\/li>\n<li>Hampden Gurney&#8217;s other entry, this time by Team Missile also features in this category with their game &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/dl.dropboxusercontent.com\/u\/14333732\/Kodu%20Kup\/Finalists\/Judges%27%20Choice\/Team%20Missile%20-%20Jetpack%20Joyride\/%5BPackage%5DJetpack%20joyride%20v10.kodu2\" target=\"_blank\">Jetpack Joyride<\/a>&#8221; which has similarities to Lister&#8217;s entry as the player also finds them self sucked into an arcade machine and playing mini-games to escape.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It was a tough job shortlisting all of the entries and I think it will be even tougher selecting a winner from each category at the final, which will feature each team presenting themselves &#8220;Dragons Den style&#8221; at Microsoft HQ in Reading on 17th July. Luckily there will be four judges\u00a0on the day to decide!<\/p>\n<p>If your school entered the Kodu Kup but did not make it through to the finals, don&#8217;t worry, there&#8217;s always next year!
